Josiah Taylor - Hephzibeth Luker

Born in Virginia, Josiah Taylor first came to Texas in 1812 as Captain in the Gutierrez-Magee Expedition, an attempt to free Mexico from Spain. He fought at La Bahia, Alazan, Rosales and was wounded 7 times in the Battle of Medina. He returned to Texas with family and eventually settled in DeWitt County, Texas in 1829. Josiah's family was part of one the longest and bloodiest feuds in Texas history, the Taylor-Sutton Feud.
