Pitkin Taylor died during one of the longest and bloodiest feuds in Texas history. During the summer of 1872, Pitkin Tavlor was lured outside his house by Sutton drygulchers ringing a cowbell. Pitkin was gunned down in his cornfield, and he died six months later.
