John Donelson II - Rachel Stockley

John Donelson was a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses and signed the Bill of Rights. Along with James Robertson, he cofounded Fort Nashborough in 1780 which would eventually become Nashville, Tennessee. In 1744 he married Rachel Stockley and they had eleven children: Leven, Alexander, Mary, Catherine, Jane, Stockley, John the III, William, Rachel, Samuel and Severn. He died in 1786 while fighting in the Northwest Indian Wars and was killed by his captors.
