At age 7, Fredericka arrived in the United States on 31 Jan 1855 aboard the Prussian ship, The Arnold Boninger. She sailed from Rotterdam to New York City with her family. In 1860, Fredericka lived in Cincinnati, Ohio with her parents. She was working in a cotton factory at age 13.
